“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself” said by John Dewey. The new academic year 2025-2026 began for the boys of the home on a very positive note and on the following day classes began in the school. The year marked with the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, creating awareness of the importance of water and the need to conserve the water through rain water harvesting. On the above topic the following activities were conducted during the course of 15 days viz. themed school assemblies, oath taking, riddles on water, poster making on conservation of water and poetry recitation.
In the month of June World environment day was commemorated by students. They planted saplings in the name of their mother “ek ped maa ke naam”. Also the students of classes 8,9,10 attended an online webinar in observance of world environment day organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), Ministry for Education for Eco-clubs on the topic ‘ENDING PLASTIC’.
“Values are the building blocks of our character and our character is the foundation of our life.” – John Wooden. The Chief Minister of Goa had an online interaction with the students and teachers of Vth to Xth on value based education. He stressed how important it is to have sound values in children to grow as responsible citizen of the state. To add to ‘WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY’ was observed to raise awareness of the harmful effects of Tobacco and promote a tobacco free lifestyle. Students participated in the online quiz on My GOV. Platform and received e-certificates for the same.
PTA Meeting for the Primary and High School was organized. Bro. Roque, the Manager rightly emphasized the need to set goals for their children and asked the parents to send their children to school with a purpose. He elaborated his thought asking the parents to revise the daily school time table when the child returns from school and to keep their child up to date with their study and academic standards.
Investiture Ceremony to hand over the duties and responsibilities of the leaders of the school was held on 21 st July’25. The Chief Guest was the Director of the Home, Bro. Roque. In his speech he stressed on the responsibilities and duties of the new leaders by focusing on change in thoughts and actions. He explained saying that leadership is not about exerting power, but about empowering others. It is about setting a positive example, upholding the values of our school, and working collaboratively to create a positive and enriching environment for all. He asked the leaders to embrace their roles with humility,
responsibility, and a genuine desire to make a difference with a strong work ethic. He asked them to be a role model for their fellow mates.
Super School Complex workshop on Teacher Wellness was held at St. Theresa’s Higher Secondary, Candolim. The Key Speaker focused on work and life balance. Later during the program, discussions on adopting various strategies to implement new assessment pattern. Students participated in various competition and won several medals too. In the Sports section our U-15 boys secured the third place and U-17, in Football organized by the Sports Authority of Goa. Besides, they have been participating in Table Tennis and Badminton and the games are in progress these days.
